Audubon Zoo in New Orleans
Alligators, opossums, and tigers are some of the animals at Audubon Zoo in New Orleans. It is a great place for kids because they will love the shows and the zoo’s playground area.

New Orleans, Louisiana is the home of the Audubon Zoo; many unique and interesting animals can be found there. Creatures such as alligators, tigers, orangutans, and elephants are all positioned in different zones at this zoo, so finding a specific animal will not be difficult. The zoo also has a restaurant, a playground, and a gift shop for guests, but children love viewing the animals the most.
The Audubon Zoo is a fantastic place, but the New Orleans weather sometimes makes guests visits shorter than expected. It gets really hot and muggy during the summer, so the best time to visit this zoo is in the spring. During the spring, the zoo is much cooler, and the oak trees are beautiful, which makes touring a more enjoyable experience.
Louisiana is known for its swamps, and the Audubon Zoo features a zone similar to it. In the swamp zone, kids can see raccoons, opossums, and of course, alligators. The alligators are a popular attraction because children enjoy watching them as they move from water to land. Speaking of alligators, normal green alligators are not the only kinds at this zoo; the zoo also features a white alligator.
The white alligator is an amazing animal, and it is well worth a photograph. The staff keeps this animal in a room, which is a bit dark. The animal comes out of the dark room from time to time, and it stays out long enough for people to take its photo.
At noon, most of the zoo’s guests will stop touring to get a snack. The restaurant within the zoo has some good items, but not everything on the menu is loved by all guests. If you visit this zoo, you should definitely pack some additional snacks just in case you order something and do not like it.
The gift store is a well-known area at the zoo as well, and it has some unique items for kids and grownups. One of the first things that kids will notice is the swamp exhibit, which features baby gators. Adults will love the many different types of gift items on the store‘s shelves; the animal t-shirts make excellent souvenirs.
After lunch, it will be a good time to see one of the animal shows at the zoo. The elephants, orangutans, sea lions, and white tigers all have their own shows. The elephant show is quite slow, which may seem boring to children. Kids will definitely love the orangutans because they put on an astounding show; guests never know what they will do next. They are amusing as well, and kids will have blast watching them perform. When the kids have seen all the animals and shows, they can enjoy the rest of the day at the playground area in the zoo.
Kids and grownups will have a great time at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, Louisiana. The animal shows are fantastic, and the gift shop is a terrific place to buy stuff for friends and family.
